Description
A Distribution Board (DB), also called panelboard, consumer unit, breaker panel etc., is an enclosure that:
- Divides a main electrical power feed into subsidiary circuits via protective devices (MCBs, MCCBs, isolators, etc.).
- Gives protection (via breakers / fuses) to each outgoing circuit.
- Provides safety, organization, and allows control / isolation of circuits.
- Must meet electrical safety, mechanical integrity, and environmental protection standards.
