Purpose of Job
Responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of UPS systems and related power equipment. Ensures all work is carried out in accordance with technical specifications, safety standards, and customer requirements while maintaining high-quality service and minimizing system downtime.
Responsibilities
- Conducts on-site installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of UPS systems.
- Sources required accessories, materials, spare parts, and tools from the local market when needed.
- Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of UPS systems, batteries, and associated electrical equipment.
- Diagnoses faults and carries out repairs to ensure optimal system performance and minimum downtime.
- Installs UPS systems, battery banks, and related accessories in accordance with approved drawings, manufacturer guidelines, and under the supervision of the Engineer.
- Ensures all installation and maintenance work complies with company standards, customer specifications, and safety regulations.
- Maintains the quality of workmanship throughout all installation and service activities.
- Optimizes the utilization of materials and spare parts while minimizing waste.
- Completes assigned work within the agreed schedule and estimated time frame.
- Prepares service reports, testing records, and commissioning documentation upon completion of assigned tasks.
- Ensures proper housekeeping of the work area and adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of UPS systems, battery banks, and power distribution equipment.
- Experience in UPS installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
- Good understanding of electrical safety practices and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to diagnose faults and perform corrective maintenance efficiently.
- Basic knowledge of electrical measuring instruments and testing equipment.
Job Experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience.
